Mount KilimanjaroTanzania

In June, our client Wolf told us he was going to climb Kilimanjaro. Then he asked the question we have not stopped thinking about since.

"Will my brace last?"

Manometric's 3D scanned, 3D printed, braces are built around one person's leg - for daily life. Not for eight days of volcanic rock, ice and 5,895 metres.

The Research and Development team at Manometric have until October 3rd to engineer one that survives the climb. Cameras are rolling for all of it.

The Breaking Point - trailer

This is real, unscripted engineering

A filmmaker is following the project from the first test to the moment the team lands back home, and the camera keeps running, no matter what happens. New video pieces land here as we go, with the full documentary premiering on 26 November.

The first-time filmmaker

Never climbed a mountain. Three months to prepare, carrying a camera the whole way. How can he motivate the R&D team to go all-in?

Wolf walks with a custom ankle-foot orthosis. It starts with our new leg scanner, which captures his anatomy in sub-millimetre detail in a fraction of a second.

The AFO fits in Wolf's hiking boots because of the sub-millimeter precise 3D fitting and razor-thin design.
